01Definitions and Applicability

These Terms and Conditions apply to every offer from Kroonz and to every agreement and every use of the Kroonz application and website (kroonz.com) between Kroonz and the User.

  • Kroonz: The provider of the application, located at [Straat + Huisnr, Postcode, Plaats].
  • App / Service: The Kroonz web and/or mobile budget manager application that gives users insight into their personal income, spending and savings goals.
  • User: The natural person who creates an account and uses the App for non-business (consumer) purposes.
  • GoCardless: The external account information service provider (AISP) licensed under PSD2, through which the User can link a bank account to the App at their own request.

02Nature of the Service & No Financial Advice

Important disclaimer: informational tool only

The Kroonz App is intended solely as an administrative and visual tool to gain insight into your own personal income, spending and budgets. The calculations, automatic categorisations, charts and notifications in the App explicitly do not constitute financial, tax, legal or investment advice within the meaning of the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wet op het financieel toezicht, Wft).

You remain fully responsible at all times for the financial decisions you make, for paying bills on time and for checking your actual bank balance in your own bank’s environment. Kroonz never acts as a financial adviser or intermediary.

03Account, Google SSO and Bank Link (PSD2)

1. Signing in with Google SSO

To use the App, you sign in with Google Single Sign-On (OAuth). Kroonz does not store passwords itself. You are responsible for securing your Google account (for example by using two-factor authentication) and for keeping access to your phone or computer private.

2. Linking through GoCardless

Bank transactions are loaded automatically through GoCardless. Kroonz does not hold a banking licence itself and never has access to your bank login details. To use the bank link, you also agree to GoCardless’s end-user terms during the linking process.

04Availability and Accuracy of Bank Data

To fetch and show account balances and transactions, Kroonz technically depends on external parties, including your own bank and the GoCardless PSD2 API. The following conditions apply:

  • Synchronisation & delay

    How it works in Kroonz
Transactions are fetched periodically through the GoCardless PSD2 link.
    Responsibility & risk
Data is not always real-time. Always check your own banking app before spending.
  • Automatic categorisation

    How it works in Kroonz
Spending is placed in categories based on text recognition and rules.
    Responsibility & risk
Categorisation may be off. You can, and should, correct wrong categories yourself in the App.
  • Expiry of consent

    How it works in Kroonz
By law, a PSD2 link expires automatically every 90 to 180 days.
    Responsibility & risk
To keep syncing, you need to renew your consent yourself periodically.

05Rules of Use and Fair Use

To keep the App safe and fast for everyone, you may not:

  • Use the App for unlawful purposes or link bank accounts of which you are not the rightful account holder or an authorised representative.
  • Manipulate, scrape, reverse-engineer or overload (DDoS) Kroonz’s security measures, JWT session tokens or API connections.

06Prices, Subscriptions and Cancellation

Free features, paid subscriptions and cancel any time

Kroonz may offer both free features and paid subscriptions. If you take out a paid subscription, the price is stated clearly in advance, including VAT. You can cancel your subscription and delete your entire Kroonz account free of charge at any time through the settings in the App. When you delete your account, your linked GoCardless tokens are revoked immediately and your encrypted data is deleted in line with our Privacy Statement.

07Limitation of Liability

Kroonz makes every effort to provide the App securely, encrypted and without interruptions, but provides the App on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, the following applies:

  • No liability for consequential financial loss: Kroonz is never liable for indirect damage or financial loss (such as overdrafts, bank charges, missed payments or wrong budget decisions) resulting from incorrect, delayed or incomplete transaction data or from outages at banks or GoCardless.
  • Cap on liability: If, despite the above, Kroonz is found liable for direct damage, that liability is limited to the amount you paid Kroonz for using the App in the 12 months before the damage occurred (up to a maximum of € 50 if you use the App for free).

08Intellectual Property and Changes

All intellectual property rights to the Kroonz name, design, source code and texts belong to Kroonz. You of course always keep full ownership of your own financial data. Kroonz may change these terms from time to time; for significant changes we will inform you at least 14 days in advance by email or in the App.
